Sean McEochaidh is an autistic Irish writer whose work confronts memory, survival, and the weight of silence. Born in Dublin, he entered St. Nicholas of Myra primary school in Kinsealy in 1980, where the red door of the classroom became the threshold to years of cruelty at the hands of teachers and a principal who should have been guardians. What he carried out of that place were not lessons in reading or sums but scars — physical, emotional, and invisible — that would shape the course of his life.

Autism gave Sean sharp, unrelenting memory. It preserved images, sounds, and words in ways that could not be shaken off or conveniently forgotten. Where others might have looked away, he remembered. Where institutions tried to bury, he unearthed.
